Lester's Imports

Winewise editor Lester Jesberg and wife Adrienne have spent a couple of decades identifying outstanding European producers and importing their wines on an indent basis. What's an indent?

An indent consists of a group of people getting together to import wine. The way we do it is as follows:

We manage the buying, and collect an initial payment from all participants which covers the ex-cellar price. That money is forwarded immediately to the producer in Europe. The producer then sends the entire shipment of wine to Australia. When the wine arrives, the cost of freight, duty and tax is payable by all participants in the indent. On receipt of the second payment, the wine is sent to the buyer.

The advantages of buying imported wine from us in this way are:

1. We personally seek out the wines to import by doing on-the-spot tasting. Our choices are based on 25 years of experience.
2. Payment is made in two stages.
3. The wines are always great value for money, as we buy direct and don't have to pay agents' commissions and mark-ups. Generally speaking, the wines sell for about half the retail price of wines of equivalent quality.

We have imported wine in this way for twenty years for an ever-growing network of enthusiasts, and have never failed to deliver the wines ordered.
